That which is good is not always beautiful, and that which is beautiful is not always good.
Something scary in the shadows- I'm thinking Lovecraftian, scarier because you can't see it, mind-bendingly terrifying if you could, omnipotent evil beyond our comprehension.
Lyrics from an old kids show opening- I used to dream myself to somewhere else each night, I dreamed in colour, 'cause I lived in black and white, Until I chanced upon this road that led to you, I could not see, how anything could be... Better than a dream, stranger than my wild imagination, If this is a real sensation It's better than a dream. Higher than the moon, hazy like a beautiful illusion, Crazy and in confusion And better than a dream.

Stuck in a fairy ring
The dead men on the ground lay still, as dirt and grass grew up over them. A creature of powerful beauty walked in. Tall and built like an Amazon goddess, this fae woman wasn’t waiflike the way sprites were. She had the all black eyes of Unseelie fae, and matching black hair that was not so much hair as swirls of pure darkness that caressed her figure, flowing down to her heels. She wore a regal gown, but where her skin showed it rippled like tree bark and shone silver with scales like a serpent.
