Water Dragon's Treasure by Ellen Million

Water Dragon's Treasure
by Ellen Million

Prompt: water dragon
prompted by: leanne wilson, during Sketch Fest #30 (November, 2012)

This is actually the second piece I did to this prompt. The first was a more mundane sketch (I'll scan it tomorrow, hopefully!), but this one really got away from me. It took the whole hour, and the plywood was not primed, so you can see a lot of the texture of the wood through the paint. I anticipated doing a big squishy abstract piece, but halfway through, I sat down and pulled the dragon and his moon out of paint blobs. It is a little over 4 feet long by about 16 inches high, acrylic paint on plywood.
