Phantom by Coriander Shea

by Coriander Shea

Prompt: Phantom
prompted by: Heather Valentin, during Sketch Fest #6 (September, 2010)

I simply couldn't resist, the Phantom of the Opera has an incredibly deep influence on my art.

Ellen Million says: I can see this guy zapping your energy! Nice folds of fabric. ~ Reply?

Jenny Heidewald says: Colored pencil on colred paper? I like the sharp definition between the edge of the wings and the paper. ~ Reply?

Coriander Shea Detwiler says: Sharpie, ballpoint pen, ebony pencil and white chalk pencil. I usually draw him with a rather angry look on his face, in this one he just looks kinda emo, like he's slightly annoyed b/c he has a wedgie or something...LOL! ~ Reply?

Noreen says: Seee, this is the dark edge I was looking for with my first sketch.. My fail. But seeing this is very inspiring. And 'doh. I shoulda grabbed the sharpie! ~ Reply?

Carole Graham says: Nice work! Love the shading. Maybe his expression is that of sad recognition of the fact that he will never be together with the woman he has fallen in love with? ~ Reply?
