Mermaid Show by Irene Fernandez

Mermaid Show
by Irene Fernandez

Prompt: mermaid in a bathtub
prompted by: Miss Ava, during Sketch Fest #23 (January, 2012)

I don't think a bathtub is the natural environment for a mermaid, and she wouldn't feel happy in there, so I decided to go the sad way. The sea, her home, is behind the window, but she can't even bear to look at it, because she misses it so much. She can't bear looking at all those who watch her in awe either, she only wants to go home... Pencil sketch, and I am thinking that maybe I could redo this one in a more elaborated version, bigger, and coloured.

Irene Fernandez replied to this: Thanks, Sue, I think I'll maybe do it indeed as a painting or a colour pencil drawing
