Mermaid Prom Night by Toria Mason

Mermaid Prom Night
by Toria Mason

Prompt: Mermaid Prom Night
prompted by: Mersea, during Sketch Fest #15 (June, 2011)

This artist has posted at least one finished version of this piece!

I found the reference for this and thought it would be fun to do a mermaid preparing for her prom. :) I have a lot of work to do left but this is what I have in an hour. This is my first Sketch Fest sketch and I'm really glad I chose to join. Reference - http://syccas-stock.deviantart.com/art/mermaid-s-mirror1-71258550

Ellen Million says: Welcome to Sketch Fest! This is wonderful - she looks just perfect for the prompt! ~ Reply?

Toria Mason replied to this: Thank you so much. :)

Alisha Christian says: Gotta check that make-up and hair! Beautiful. ~ Reply?

Toria Mason replied to this: I haven't added any makeup yet but I know the hair is all wonky. I wanted it to look more like it was flowing in water and completely failed. I'll definitely be fixing it. lol
Toria Mason replied to this: I'm sorry for misinterpreting your comment.

Marianne Mathiasen says: Enchanting sketch! ~ Reply?

Toria Mason replied to this: Thank you. :)

Noreen says: Welcome to Sketchfest! Fabulous work on her hand and arm holding the mirror! p.s. I think Alisha was commenting in the voice of the mermaid ;) ~ Reply?

Toria Mason replied to this: Thank you! And oh, haha, my bad. I thought she was giving critique that I should check those. Oops. Thanks for pointing that out. :)

Alisha Christian says: So glad you realized I didn't mean that as criticism! :) I was thinking she was checking her make-up and hair before her prom. Really pretty job! ~ Reply?

Toria Mason replied to this: Well I appreciate criticism so I wasn't bothered by it. I just felt a bit slow when I realized I misinterpreted it. But thank you so much. :)
