Moon Fairy by Mayumi Ogihara

Moon Fairy
by Mayumi Ogihara

Prompt: Moon fairy
prompted by: Shell, during Sketch Fest #96 (March, 2018)

Col-Erase brown, white charcoal, and white acrylic on 8.5x11 toned paper. Model is lovely Janna Prosvirina.

Janna Prosvirina says: That texture of the dress, all little folds and highlights are so perfect. Her necklace seem to glow ( And I wonder how you did that?OO) I love her sparkling wings! Always thrilled when you use my reference! ( Eeek! I was quite curvy back then lol ) You did great job! Thank you so much! ~ Reply?

Mayumi Ogihara replied to this: Thank you so much, Janna. I'm thrilled you like it 💗 This necklace was simply painted with opaque white paint, but the glowing effect on toned paper can be easily created by using opaque white paint (titanium white) as the source of light and very lightly applied white charcoal/pastel/coloured pencil as the "glow" around the painted part. For sparkles, I smear a small amount of white pastel with a q-tip over painted white dots. I love your reference photos, they're all amazing!

Kathy Nutt says: Gorgeous! ~ Reply?

Mayumi Ogihara replied to this: Thank you, Kathy!

Erich Heidewald says: Lovely indeed! That titanium white sure pops out on the toned paper. :) ~ Reply?

Mayumi Ogihara replied to this: Thank you so much, Erich!
