prompted by: Jools62, during Sketch Fest #94 (December 2017)

This is a finished version of a sketch!

Winsor Newton watercolors on Canson acid-free 300g coldpress. Paper is about 5x9”? But bird is more 4x5 or so. Not quite happy w/ breast feathers (myst learn do shade w/o muddying colors!); pleased w hat, eyes, feet, twig. Still not sure if I should have put a swooshy blobby bit of color behind bird to link/frame/focus the eye. Also happy because a glass table makes a great light table if you just put a lamp under it (and dicomfit the dog :) ). This is an iThing photo in indifferent light w some edits. Need to properly scan it because it’s too yellow- orange and the pale blue does not show well.
