Snow queen by Amy Sue Stirland

Snow queen
by Amy Sue Stirland

Prompt: Snow Queen
prompted by: Mayumi Ogihara, during sketch Fest #69 (November, 2015)

5x7 ink, marker and pencil on drawing paper. Wonder what she is contemplating or singing as she holds her scepter? Not sure it is done yet. The eyes need to be fixed, somehow...

mikka says: ! Hey, that wasn't colored the first time I looked at it. Nice shading. Delightfully appropriate crown, too. ~ Reply?

Amy Sue Stirland replied to this: I had some time left in my hour... So I colored it then cheated and updated the original image. Not sure if I'm done yet. The background seems... Plain.

Erich Heidewald says: Palaces of snow do tend to have a rather plain look. :) However, that fabulous stained glass window more than makes up for it! ~ Reply?

Amy Sue Stirland replied to this: I was originally going to go for plain glass, but she looked so out of place in that white setting that I needed something to balance her. I love how the window turned out too. :)

katerina Koukiotis says: shes lovely !! ~ Reply?

Amy Sue Stirland replied to this: Thanks Katerina!

Mayumi Ogihara says: Beautiful work! ~ Reply?

Amy Sue Stirland replied to this: Thanks Mayumi!
