Invisible Art Revealed by Tori Beveridge

Invisible Art Revealed
by Tori Beveridge

Prompt: Invisible Art
prompted by: katerina Koukiotis, during Sketch Fest #55 (September, 2014)

One of my favorite things to do, especially if I am not sure what to paint, is to randomly drop watercolors wet on wet and let it dry. Then I look at it and see if I can pull anything out of the dried colors. I've seen strange creatures, faces, flowers... what was once invisible is now revealed. Then I add a little more paint to bring it out as I did here. I accentuated her eyes, lips and added more blue for hair.

katerina Koukiotis says: Tori that is so clever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE what you did !! my prompt was inspired by a bogus art story how a NY artist painted nothing and sold their for millions , turns out story is a hoax thank god but i couldnt resist posting the prompt ,you actually made this work bravo!! ~ Reply?

Tori Beveridge replied to this: Thanks Katerina :-) I use this technique a lot. It helps me when I'm 'stuck'. Interesting story behind the prompt!
