Well rather basic but... inspiration dictated. My DA Mage Rémy. He's planned to become a bloodmage. The most dreaded mages in the DA universe, for good reasons. Mages can use Mana to cast spells or blood (either theirs or this of others). It's strictly forbidden, but sometimes in this world people fall. And my Mage here is falling. Further he was raised far away from society by his grandfather who also was blood Mage. He only learned in a later age that what he thought was normal actually is feared and hunted down.
