Spike Mice, Chishiki by Shirley Meier

Spike Mice, Chishiki
by Shirley Meier

Prompt: Silly mice
prompted by: Evelyn Henderson, during Sketch Fest #41 (September, 2013)

These mice are indigenous to the planet Chishiki. They are fluffy and inoffensive until frightened when their fur becomes brittle and spiky as prickly pear spines, or fiberglass and since all their colours are urea, they stink. They are hermaphroditic and breed in triads. A bonded pair has one pup between them and then become infertile with each other, so the third 'bachelor' comes in and breeds once with both of the pair. Then the first pup and the breeding third pick a new territory as a new pair.

Jenny Heidewald says: They are cute! :) ~ Reply?
