Work by: Kathy

Bio as an artist:

I've has always been interested in fairies and fantasy. Like many artists, I started drawing at a young age, but it was only for fun.

I began creating art professionally in 2004. I'm a self taught artist and have always drawn using my mouse and paint programs, although, I'm currently playing around with pastels, watercolors/watercolor pencils and acrylics

My greatest influences, I'd have to say, is the entire fairy community.
There are so many artists and artist friends that inspire me everyday.

Right now, 99% of my fairy art is digital. I started out digital and haven't looked back since.

My fairies have a bit of a cartoon-y look to them, with a fun, romantic feel that appeals to people of all ages.

Fave Programs: Illustrator, Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro
Art Supplies: Arches Watercolor paper, (for now) the cheaper craft acrylic paints, Yarka watercolors, (for now) any kind of oil pastels, Lineco binding board, Frederix watercolor canvas
Fave books: (On my wish list) The Art of Amy Brown 1 and 2, The Enchanted World of Jessica Galbreth, Jessica Becket-Griffth Portfolio Volume 1.
(Books I have or have read) - All Harry Potter books, all Artemis Fowl books, all Charlie Bone books, Fairy: The Art of Jasmine Becket-Griffth, Linda Ravenscroft-How to draw and paint fairies
Fave movies: Musicals, anything with Dean Martin, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelley, etc., any comedy or romantic comedy. I like feel good movies.
Fave music: Dixie Chicks, anything with a good beat. I like upbeat music, whether it's country, pop, rock, etc.
