The Magpieby Janet Chui
I looked up the symbolism of magpies very quickly, and was amused by the sinister meaning of magpies in the west, versus being "birds of joy" in China. I think the magpies themselves would be very amused at the contrast, if they could have an opinion. I went mostly "dark" with this one, though the bridge in the background alludes to the famous Chinese Bridge of Birds story. (I also attempted to colour this in Photoshop, but didn't complete in one hour. So here's the black and white.)
