 | A Noble Poseby Selina FenechPrompt: A Noble Pose A character study of a character from my novel. This prompt was just perfect for him. From the novel- "...and then the gnome said to the merchant, ‘I'm sorry, I'm a bit short!’" The stall holder rumbled out the punch line. Around him, a huddle of corseted and bustled ladies giggled behind their gloved hands. Observing as he strolled by, Roen wondered if they laughed at the man’s humour or the man himself. Roen hadn’t heard that joke since he was a boy and a few entrepreneurial little folk could still be seen trading on market day, bringing exotic imports and rare fairy goods. They rarely appeared anymore and the fae had barely been importing for far longer. Funny to be joking about it now, the market suffered from their absence. One of the young ladies smiled at Roen, and he winked back, setting the group off in another wave of giggles, shaking lace and ribbons. Shame he couldn’t stay, he thought, letting his gaze linger on them. Unfortunately he had to get to work. |

Selina Fenech says: Yeah I never did quite get the era style across in the first draft. Working on it in revisions. Imagine the Victorian fairy craze, but for reals ^_^ hehehe thrown in a touch more gothic fantasy and a mix of styles anywhere from the 1600's to 1800's. But it's definitely not Medieval, which most people instantly assume with fantasy. ~ Reply?
