Tasmanian Angel by Jenny Heidewald

Tasmanian Angel
by Jenny Heidewald

Prompt: Tasmanian Angel (Jenny Heidewald here, I am posting this for my friend. :) )
prompted by: Randy Lines , during Sketch Fest #4 (July, 2010)

Finished 8/22/2015, Finish Fest. Congrats Randy, you are the winner of the random die roll! I'll be sending you a 300 dpi copy of the sketch via e-mail. :) The Tasmanian angel is a type of flowering plant with really cool leaves. Update: 8/22/2015: The Tasmanian Angel is also known as Bear's Breeches, and the leaves are what the Greek/Roman's based their leaves in carved columns on. You also see a lot of the leaves in border type illustrations. This flower is also the Zodiac sign Cancer's flower (one of them), which I was going to draw anyways. I didn't know about the Thylacine back in 2010, and I think that is the real Tasmanian Angel, so I had to add one in. So tragic. My last hunter green pen was doing dying gasps on this one ( which was my last old sketch) I had to really work at getting it to go, luckily my husband bought me two new pens. :) Micron pen on tracing paper. My Facebook art page

Sylvia Heidewald says: Hee hee, a plant, I'll bet he never knew there was such a plant. Giggles ~ Reply?

Jenny Heidewald (Celticwren) says: Me, either, until I Googled it. It is quite pretty. :) ~ Reply?

Ellen Million says: I didn't know it was a plant - it's pretty! ~ Reply?

Jenny Heidewald replied to this: 8/2015: I discovered that it is also Bear's Breeches, which is the plant I was going to draw for my Zodiac sign Cancer! It is also that leaf that the greeks and roman's based thier leafy building details on. :)
