Prompted by some of the new local street trees, some of which have lost their trunk tops, or their crowns entirely, from transplant stress and damage, but which are suckering aggressively from the roots and might possibly survive. Or might be removed and replaced by trees closer to the expected aesthetic. Dark stoneware clay, assembled as a rattle but the walls are thick enough it will probably thunk quietly rather than make a bright noise. I currently plan to add leaves/greenery to the suckers with fiber of some sort after it's fired and glazed. Apologies for the dim picture -- it's grey here, and the flash images all looked weird.
